About Me:

Marla's philosophy is that children learn best while having fun. So whether it's a voice or piano class for adults, elementary children, or 7 month old babies, Marla seems to draw out the best out all of her students. Her acceptance of children and adults right where they are, her appreciation of music and what it can do to develop self-esteem, and her respect for families living in harmony, create a joyful atmosphere in her classes that open up unique learning opportunities.

Her goal is to teach strong, healthy vocal technique to the very young and develop the natural voices with freedom.

C.A.S. from Northern Illinois University
Kindermusik® training at Northwestern and Michigan State Universities

Marla has taught music from nursery school to college level and has worked with various children's choirs and musicals.

Lessons

Piano

Piano lessons with Marla consist of weekly 30 minute lessons for students from age 5 to adult. Lessons emphasize both technique and theory so students can learn to play anything from pop hits to classical pieces.

Vocal

Vocal lessons with Marla consist of weekly 30 minute lessons for students from age 6 all the way to adults. Voice lessons focus on building techniques and are tailored to each student's individual goals and capabilities.

Family

This is a program for children ages birth to 5 years. Children will be in groups with similar ages while parents work with their children to learn and develop musically and socially.
